Important Course Information! Homework and Attendance
Homework is generally due on Mondays at midnight. Grading will begin sometime Tuesday morning. If you homework is missing when grading begins, it will be considered late. Missing homework will receive a grade of 0 pts. Late homework will be accepted up to the beginning of class in Week 15. After that, no late work will be accepted or graded. Late homework will be eligible for 50% of the original points that would have been awarded if the assignment was submitted on time.
Weekly attendance and participation in weekly breakout sessions during class are an important part of the learning process in this class. Attendance will be taken during class and each class period represents 1% of the final grade.
Final presentations are in class (Weeks 14 and 15) and are mandatory. Students will be expected to submit assessments of their peer teams during the class sessions. Failure to attend these sessions will result in significant point loss and likely result in as much as a full grade reduction for the course.
Excused absences will only be accepted if students use the university excused absence process (https://odos.illinois.edu/community-of-care/resources/students/absence-letters/). If the university issues an excused absence letter, an appropriate makeup assignment will be offered. If the university declines the student request for an excused absence letter, then the absence will be considered unexcused and no make up will be offered.
