1.4 Creating Content Pages
Overview
We've talked a bit about Pages already--a page in Canvas is just like any webpage that displays text, links, images, and videos. The resources below provide more details on how to create content pages within your course. Pages also offer the flexibility of allowing students to edit content within the course. Any page you create within Canvas by default is only editable by instructors, but you can easily adjust that setting so students can edit a page. This is a useful method for replacing activities you might have done using the Wiki or Journal tools in Compass.
Here's an example created for this course: editable page example.
Note: this is also an example of a course link that takes you to a content page within another module in the same course. It's often useful to provide these links between pages of interrelated content, but doing so can be disorienting to students. Notice the steps you have to follow to return to this page after viewing the linked page. (Hint: use the Module link on the main course menu to return to item 2.4 Creating Content Pages).
