2.2 Inbox
Overview
You can reach out to individual students or groups through the Inbox in the Global Navigation Menu, located on the left-hand side of every Canvas page. The Inbox functions independently of external email tools. Individual users have the option to send course notifications to other email clients, including campus accounts. Canvas does not have a method to ensure that all conversations are routed to an Outlook inbox; end-users decide whether to do this by editing notification preferences Links to an external site..
One benefit of using the internal Inbox is that the conversations are archived within the course for students to view as needed. In the following tutorial you will learn how to view, manage and send messages through Inbox.
