Overview

Welcome to Canvas 101: Introduction to Canvas. This course makes use of short video tutorials that provide a general overview of Canvas. These videos are part of the large library of tutorials available from Instructure Links to an external site., the creators of Canvas. We have carefully selected videos to provide you with the basic knowledge necessary for getting started with Canvas. 

In the video below, you'll learn more about the profile, calendar and dashboard options available in Canvas. As you watch the video, please keep in mind that our campus does not have the "Start a New Course" button (instead we use the Space Request Application) or ePortfolios (but Digication Links to an external site. can be enabled at the course level).

Course Prerequisite

This course assumes that you have a Canvas space already. We recommend that you practice each of the steps outlined in these tutorial videos. You may find it useful to open this course in one browser tab and your Canvas course in another--doing so will allow you to easily jump back and forth. If you don't have a Canvas space yet, we'll show you how to request one at the end of this orientation module.
